Holzer Original Cacao Fernet

Earthy. Polished. Invigorated.

Holzer Original Cacao is a collaboration between Holzer & Holzer and Bar Leone Hong Kong, born from a friendship between bar owner Lorenzo Antinori and 4th-generation bittermaker Raphael Holzer. The Fernet is infused with cacao husks — a byproduct of bean processing sourced from a single farm in Vietnam's Dak Lak province — roasted in Hong Kong and extracted separately in Brunnwald, Austria.

The result delivers dark chocolate, unripe cherry, and berry notes on the nose, a soft, robust palate of milk chocolate and raisins, and a smooth, pleasantly bitter finish. Built on the same 15-botanical base (including orris root, lavender, and angelica) with 12% sugar, it's a softer, more versatile Fernet designed to work equally well neat or in cocktails — inspired by Lorenzo Antinori's early Cacao Negroni experiments.

Best enjoyed: neat, on the rocks, or in stirred and shaken cocktails — an easy Negroni or Boulevardier modifier.
